Job Description

LaSalle Network has partnered with a fast-growing software startup in Chicago to identify a Director of Strategic Finance . This role will be instrumental in shaping the company’s financial strategy and growth trajectory, working directly with executive leadership on capital raising, investor relations, and long-term planning.

This role will follow a 5x a week in office schedule in the River North neighborhood and is budgeted between $150,000-$220,000 base salary with additional bonus eligibility.  A comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical / dental / vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees. 

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the company’s multi-year financial strategy and investment framework.

• Oversee capital structure and liquidity planning, including debt/equity mix and cash management.

• Partner with the CEO and leadership team on fundraising efforts, building investor-grade financial models and preparing materials.

• Support investor relations, including KPI tracking, reporting, and engagement with current and prospective investors.

• Evaluate and execute on strategic opportunities, including M&A.

• Manage long-range planning, scenario analysis, and performance tracking.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and go-to-market leaders to align strategy with execution.

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE 8–12+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or related fields.

• Proven track record supporting equity and/or debt fundraising in a high-growth environment.

• Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise.

• Strong executive communication skills, with credibility in front of investors and boards.

• Advanced Excel and presentation skills; familiarity with BI and ERP tools preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA/CPA/CFA a plus).
