ദോഹ. ഖത്തറില്‍ 2020 ല്‍ 3100 പുതിയ കാന്‍സര്‍ രോഗികളെ കണ്ടെത്തിയതായും 900 പേരെ റേഡിയോതെറാപ്പിക്ക് വിധേയരാക്കിയും ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. ലോക കാന്‍സര്‍ ദിനത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ചാണ് ഈ കണക്കുകള്‍ പറത്തുവിട്ടത്.

രോഗികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തില്‍ പ്രതിവര്‍ഷം 13.2 ശതമാനം വര്‍ധനയുണ്ടായതായി നാഷണല്‍ സെന്റര്‍ ഫോര്‍ കാന്‍സര്‍ കെയര്‍ ആന്റ് റിസര്‍ച്ച് മെഡിക്കല്‍ ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ഡോ. മുഹമ്മദ് സാലം അല്‍ ഹസ്സന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

റേഡിയോ തെറാപ്പി, കീമോതെറാപ്പി, മറ്റ് ചികിത്സാ പരിപാടികള്‍ എന്നിവയില്‍ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ അന്തര്‍ദ്ദേശീയ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യകള്‍ നല്‍കുന്നതിനാല്‍ ഓങ്കോളജി ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി നീക്കിവച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഏക സ്ഥലമാണ് എന്‍സിസിസിആര്‍. കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍ നിലവില്‍ 104 ബാഹ്യ, ആന്തരിക ക്ലിനിക്കുകള്‍ ഉണ്ട്, പ്രതിദിനം 150 മുതല്‍ 200 വരെ രോഗികളാണ് ഇവിടെയെത്തുന്നത്.
